A solid claro walnut dining table with matching floating shelves, alongside a sculptural shuffleboard table, designed and built for the common space of a former auto dealership in Oakland, now a luxury apartment building. Both the original building and the new construction return to the circle again and again, so each table stands on round columns that anchor the piece and tie it back into the room around it.

In the mail room, sorting casework and a bench in solid claro walnut give an everyday stop in the building the warmth of a furnished room.

Shuffle board | Maple, ebonized oak
