A compass to the sun | walnut, steel, brass
The table is constructed from 4 sequential Bastogne walnut slabs that were seasoned from a naturally felled Northern California tree. The bases were constructed from off cuts of the slabs, and steel.
The brass symbols were selected to follow the ranch themed art direction of the client site where the table now lives. The animals chosen all live on site. The hand is my signature on the piece, and the compass points to the sun
After completing the build, we showed the table in St. Josephs Art Society, a fine art gallery in San Francisco. The piece then transitioned on to a private residence in Woodside, Ca.
